Summary
“Okay, and how did you feel about that?” Buck is trying to remain neutral, not let his thoughts or opinions derail the conversation. Eddie has something important he is leading to, platonic life partners, his brain reminds him.
“Now you sound like Frank.” Eddie chuckles.
“You had a session with Frank?” Buck tried not to let the surprise into his voice. Usually he has to convince Eddie to schedule an appointment with Frank when things get bad. It isn’t often Eddie schedules a session without Buck knowing about it.
“Yeah, we talked about the break up, but we mostly talked about what I am looking for in a relationship?” Eddie says it more as a question than a statement. “He had me make a list of things I want from a girlfrie- partner.” As he talks, Eddie’s posture becomes more relaxed, he leans back, settling into the couch. Buck mirrors him. “After I made the list, I realized I get a lot of that stuff already… from you.”
--
Eddie and Marisol break up. A therapy session with Frank helps Eddie realize that he already has everything he is looking for... with Buck. They decide to become Platonic Life Partners. Turns out it is everything they could have wanted it to be, and more.

Summary
When Eddie and Christopher return to LA, falling back into life with Buck feels natural. Like no time has passed at all. But something has changed. For Eddie, the closeness he once took for granted now feels like standing on the edge of something bigger. As he wrestles with feelings he’s kept buried and memories he can’t forget, he’s forced to confront the question he’s avoided his whole life: will he keep choosing the safe, familiar water… or finally reach for the joy, the juice, he’s been denying himself?
Or, Eddie realized he's gay in Texas, but he is still denying himself joy.

Summary
When a slow shift at the 118 leads to a playful game of Spin the Bottle, Eddie and Buck are put into an interesting situation. The bottle has spoken, so they have to follow through, right? Buck wants to go for it, but Eddie can't. Not like this.
Inspired by *the* Nick and Jess kiss from New Girl.

Summary
Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

Summary
“I swear, this doesn’t normally happen to me.”
He didn’t normally run along trying to justify himself either, but it didn’t matter, because his date — Mia? Maya? — was already halfway out the door.
“Hey, man, you don’t have to justify yourself to me… just maybe don’t go calling yourself Firehose if the hose is lacking… water pressure.”
Buck was going to jump out a window.
“I don’t lack water pressure, okay, this has really never happened before. And Firehose is old, I didn’t even realise that name was still attached to the profile but—”
She sighed, “We’re not dating, Bock.” Buck’s brows wrinkled, “this was meant to be a short hookup, and your hook just isn’t going up, so I’m gonna head out.”
Before Buck could even argue any further, Meena was gone.
Or maybe it was Milla.

Eddie leaves and Buck tries to fuck about it. Instead, he fails miserably and repeatedly, gets a cat and makes some discoveries.

Summary
Buck’s not sure how it happens, but they find themselves falling into a rhythm. Buck goes on dates, not all of them as disastrous as the first, but none that warrant a second one, and afterwards he makes his way over to Eddie’s. They watch TV; they work on Eddie’s yard together; Buck starts teaching Eddie how to be a better cook.
And if Buck finds himself looking forward to seeing Eddie after his dates more than the dates themselves, well, that’s normal, right? It probably means nothing.

Summary
Eddie will double text. He’s not sixteen years old. Besides, it’s Buck. Most of the time, Buck will text Eddie twenty times while he’s taking a single ride. In fact, Buck told him once that he likes it when Eddie texts him multiple times in a row. That was even before Eddie had moved, so it stands to reason that it’s even more true now.
Eddie will even triple text.
It’s then that he starts to worry, though.
Buck isn’t pissed, and he isn’t busy.
So what is he?
OR
During the events of "Sick Day," Buck doesn't answer Eddie's texts. He responds exactly as you would think.

Summary
They're friends, that's all there is to it.
Until Eddie lets himself into Buck's apartment unannounced, and finds him in a compromising position. That should be nothing, just something to laugh about down the line, except afterwards, it's like a switch has flipped, and neither of them can get it out of their minds.
The solution? They need to get it out of their systems. Just one time, and things will go back to normal. But one time turns to two, which turns to more nights spent together than apart, and still, they haven't actually spoken about what any of this means for them.
They're still just friends, right?- Language:
