The pale lips that met Mo Ran’s were cool and soft pressing lightly onto his. They lingered there for a few moments and Mo Ran knew better than to move them at that; he knows that any gesture from his part could be interpreted as overeagerness or as an attempt to avoid Chu Wanning’s touches, so he stayed there until the hand that laid hidden close to his chest, attentive to his increasing heartbeats, moved to tenderly hold his face in place as his former Shizun deepened the kiss. The position is quite troublesome and soon enough Mo Ran saw himself turned to see the sharp yet sweet features roaming above him, Chu Wanning’s hair falling over him like a curtain protecting them and keeping their indecent act hidden from any prying eyes.

Mo Ran decides to stay by his Shizun’s side when the Flower starts to take root into his heart. He is still the dumb husky, but a soft hearted one, and thinks that Chu Wanning's mind will eventually click into place, which never happens. As he never reached his full potential as a cultivator, when he tries to fight Chu Wanning, he gets severely injured and ends up by turning into his prisoner. Powerless, he can't do anything but to endure his Shizun’s cruelty.
