“Once you exit the shuttle you are free to return to your dorms. Those of you who are new, you’ll follow me to registration and physicals,” a vaguely familiar-looking officer says, and Jim’s heart stops in his chest. Surprising, considering it shouldn’t be beating at all.

“Viktor. My name is Viktor“, Viktor says, unsure whether to offer his hand.
The man laughs, crystal clear and sparkling, a stark contrast against the low, rumbling beat.
“Of course it is“, he says.
Viktor raises his eyebrows. “You don‘t believe me?“
The guy shakes his head deliberately.
“No, I‘m sure it‘s true. It‘s just...“, he makes a vague gesture towards Viktor‘s entire being, “you know, you meet a guy in a goth club, wearing a black suit and white tie, possibly Pikes, and having a fancy, elegant haircut, you absolutely expect him to be called Viktor or Damian or, you know, Valerian, or something. Or at least call himself something like that.“
Viktor furrows his brow and regards the man levelly.

Then his elbow on his leg, and his chin settling in his hand. “Easy enough to accept someone sees something you don’t,” he said, his words lacking his typical playfulness. His gaze sharpened, honed in on Yuuri, and it made him squirm in more than a few ways. “But for this to work, Yuuri, for you to perform your best and win gold, I’d like you to see in you what I see, on your own terms, and in your own words.”
As always, the brutal honesty was like too much sunshine on a plant starved for water.

Summary
The Federation is a government organization that holds extreme power over most of the galaxy. As the adopted son of one of the most important figures, Captain Christopher Pike, everyone is watching to see who submissive Jim Kirk will choose as his bonded dominant now that he is of age. The only problem is, Jim could not want a bond less.
Being the son of the Vulcan Ambassador of the Federation, Spock must make very careful selection in the submissive he chooses to bond with. The only problem is, Spock's most desired choice might not feel the same way.
This story takes place in an alternate dom/sub universe in which submissives are required by law to bond with dominants at the age of 21. The timeline in the story does not follow the exact timelines and events of other Star Trek media.

After being missing for three months, a pregnant Jim is rescued from captivity. The relief of getting him back proves to be short-lived as this new Jim will not speak, express emotions or do much of anything.
Refusing to accept that Jim can't be helped, Spock embarks on an obsessive journey for answers, all the while taking care of a newborn and an incapacitated adult.A story about grief, denial, acceptance and, ultimately, friendship. Bones is the glue that holds the universe together. That is all.
