Summary
Mob tuvo la oportunidad de probar una nueva tecnología de realidad virtual, dónde tu alma parecía ser transportada de verdad dentro del videojuego.
Verity, un mod que se autoproclamaba su amigo y asistente personal, perdió el control y lo atacó unas noches anteriores dentro de esta realidad virtual.
Después de eso, su mirada y actitud hacia Mob cambio repentinamente a una más íntima que lo incomodaba. Mob prefería fingir demencia a los cambios de actitud de Verity, pero no poner límites claros para el mismo desde el principio le costaría muy caro.
La historia sigue el rumbo de la historia original al inicio, pero comienza a desviarse al momento que Verity actúa más sadico y obsesivo que original.

Instead, he finds himself sharing a room with a roughian. An insect. A waste of good air. Verity just can't simply stand by and let this unfortunate rooming situation ruin his academic experience.

"There, there, you don't have to cry over him, Mob. You have me here." The entity—now a humanoid yellow orb—murmured into the boy's ear, running its fingers through his hair. The music the entity usually played drifted softly from deep within Verity, evoking a feeling strangely akin to safety.
Even Mob—who moments earlier had sworn to find a way to destroy Verity—found himself leaning unconsciously into the touch. It was familiar yet hollow, a gesture that felt almost artificial. Because, in part, it was.
Especially since he was now regretting having brought his best friend there to die. Or worse, at that very moment, he was thinking about how to dispose of the body. Not out of fear of being discovered, but because leaving it there felt stupidly wrong. It was ironic to think about morality while being soothed by the very thing that had killed his friend, wasn't it?
It didn't matter, though.
His desolation and sorrow wouldn't change if he kept sitting on a pool of blood that wasn't his own. But, maybe staying there to feel its touch wouldn't hurt.
