"Firstly, she didn't state that we both needed consorts," Wise started, waving his hand around as he found some twine in his drawers. "In fact, she said 'consort'. So if we take that literally, which we will, that means this decree is only applicable for one potential partner." He hummed when he found what he needed, and he started rolling up his letter. "Secondly, she never specified who's hand."
Lighter listened intently, but after Wise finished speaking, it only took a few seconds for realisation to set in. When it did, it was quickly followed by utter disbelief.
”You didn’t…”
Wise gazed at him from under his silvery lashes, and despite his smile, his eyes remained firm and steadfast, like the high and low tides of the ocean; coming and going as nature intended.
"No wonder Her Majesty was so angry with you." Lighter shook his head, brows pinched in equal parts exasperation and frustration. "You're planning on staking your own hand in marriage."

Due to circumstances, Wise has been forced to offer his hand in marriage in a tournament. Lighter is vehemently against this arrangement; more so than he really should. And he doesn't know why.

For Asaba Harumasa, life was painful. No matter what path he walked, he would be alone in the end. Every person he grew attached to would leave and he would be burnt. So he decides to avoid connections from other people to protect himself. But he finds that it is harder to do than he anticipated, and he begins growing close to people once more.

“Normally, in this case, I’d suggest just getting a new computer.” Wise says, Lighter shakes his head. “If that’s a no-go… I could try fixing it.”
“You really mean that?” Lighter kind of resembles a puppy the way his head perks up. Wise can almost imagine little pointy ears and a wagging tail and the thought of it makes him want to laugh.
“Pft… sure.” Wise barely manages to control his laughter, barely. He can still feel the pressure of his eyelids trying not to crease. “It’s not going to be free, but luckily for you, I don’t overcharge handsome guys.”
Lighter freezes, it’s almost like he becomes a statue, a human equivalent of a blue screen.
Wise is just your perpetually sleep-deprived college student trying to get by. He doesn’t get why the handsome bad boy Lighter, who looks like he stepped out of the cover of an action movie, would be interested in a boring guy like him. It’s not like Wise has time for romance anyway, he leads a dangerous life as half of the legendary hacker Phaethon.
Lighter can’t decide if the cute guy he has a crush on is politely rebuking his advances or just incredibly dense.

It had been a year since Asaba Harumasa vanished. No one knew where he had gone or what happened to him. Section 6 never filled the empty spot in their team despite the orders from the H.S.O president. They had never given up on him.
Soukaku believed he was still alive.
Hoshimi Miyabi believed they would find him.
And Tsukishiro Yanagi was sure he would return.
Section 6 never gave up hope. They still held on even when the rest of the H.S.O had given up, and they still would even if the rest of New Eridu did. After all, if they didn't believe, who would?

“Don’t worry about my finances. You see, I have this employer who pays me very handsomely, if I need more, I’ll just fleece it out of him.”
“Jeez, you’ll scare him away with an attitude like that.”
“I think I already have. But that’s fine, I’m plenty good at chasing people down, and luckily for me, he’s already delivered himself to my doorstep.”
Lighter sees the moment it clicks. When Harumasa’s eyes light up. They flick to the left, then right, scanning the area for an escape route. His posture doesn’t change, but his heel digs slightly into the ground, ready to spring away at a moments notice.
And here’s the thing, Lighter knows Harumasa’s fast. He spends his days running through hollows, flying ahead of his team as their scout. Hell, he could ride on the currents of his electric arrows if he needed to. But they’re not in a hollow, and Harumasa doesn’t have a bow.
He’s alone, unarmed, and Lighter has a motorbike. So realistically, they both knew how this would end.
Or, It’s never a good idea to ghost a mercenary, especially one with the Red Scarf’s reputation.
