Summary
The knock on Rebecca’s office door is habitual. Ted’s done this a hundred times before, in the morning with biscuits, in the evening with stories about his day and it is always the same.
Except today, it isn’t.
He pushes the ajar door open, expecting Rebecca to be immersed in paperwork or emails, a tea cup on her desk but the sight stops him cold.
She isn’t alone.
Matthijs is there, standing close as she gathers her belongings, laughing at something he’s said. The sound hits Ted like a sucker punch.
Rebecca’s laugh has never hurt before.
This is a story about how two years apart changed Ted and Rebecca's bond.

“Fuck me, you're good at this,” Rebecca says breathlessly, as Ted mouths his way down her jaw. He makes a pleased sound against her throat that rumbles deliciously through her. “Maybe we should—Fuck—Maybe we can help each other out once in awhile," she gasps.
He releases her earlobe from his teeth. “I like the sound of that,” he says before he kisses her again.
