WangXian are married, but not to one another. Wangji's followed his uncle's instructions, Wei Ying his broken heart. He's overcome his past and has become star architect to the rich, media darling, and idol to countless fans. He's famous, wealthy, glamorous. He also is a devoted husband and adoptive father, friend, and benefactor.
Wangji... not so much. He's conscientious in his familial duties, though he's cut his ties with the Lans' corporate empire and reset his life.
But the past has a habit of colouring the present, and the probability of paths crossing is greater if one moves in overlapping circles. Both of them have secrets...Series

Summary

Set after Fan Xiao and Shulang separate. Shulang tries to rebuild his life after Fan Xiao has gone to prison.
Both this story and the notes are full of spoilers. It’s a non-linear narrative; I’ve taken a few liberties with canon timeline but not altered the events or characters themselves because for me this would lessen the impact of the canon story.Shulang has to learn to live with the trauma caused by the abuse he’s endured at Fan Xiao’s hands. Fan Xiao has choices to make. For Fan Xiao, salvation must come from within, and it must be earned. He needs to learn remorse, repentance, penance, sacrifice. Unselfish love, proven by the willingness to let go of whom he loves most. Shulang must find the wherewithal to recover and learn to live with PTSD for the rest of his life. He’s fighting not just for survival, but to reclaim his self, and to balance what he feels for Fan Xiao.

This story is set immediately after Shulang has discovered the devastating extent of Fan Xiao’s cynical manipulation of him, just as Fan Xiao has realised that his cruel game has turned into something different: He’s come to feel truly attracted by Shulang, his goodness, his wit, his strength and confidence, and his physical form. Confronted with Shulang’s horror at the scale of his betrayal, Fan Xiao panics and, using coercion again, imprisons Shulang, in a grotesque travesty of domestic bliss.

Summary
I came across this Thai action/corporate intrigue drama (lakorn) and got hooked.
Than and Pheem are the main characters. Than is an ex-policeman who got framed, and Pheem is the illegitimate son of a powerful health tycoon. Than wants to prove his innocence and return to the police; Pheem has one goal only - to succeed his father as the chair of the powerful health corporation the family owns, and avenge the murder of his mother by his father's wife. He has to battle his half-siblings for the succession, and there's a lot of action, family drama, and intrigue. Good actors, theme music, and story. Than and Pheem start on a mildly antagonistic footing but their paths keep crossing, and somewhere along the way they find they like one another. There are many more strands to the story though, and there's a heart-stopping twist at the end.The two lead actors are great together. I also watched their other drama, ‘Century of Love’ and loved that too. It’s very different: A fantasy/costume romance, sweet and thoughtful, some sadness, but also lots of funny moments.

I find the dynamics between those two interesting. Zhixing all fierce, hot and cold all the same, his temper quite like his father's though his morals are very different. Zang Hai cool, controlled, calculating, unless something really gets through his iron shell. Both of them realistic, pragmatic, supremely capable, and very clear about themselves and about the other. This would make any attempt at a personal (rather than utilitarian) relationship challenging: They have to give up some of their reserve. They'd have to negotiate. They'd have to trust in a context where mistrust and suspicion have been life-saving. For two people of their calibre and mindset, that would be difficult...Series

Follows ‘Heaven’ with a small leap: They’ve faked their death and are on the run, more or less, across the North-Western desert. They take shelter at an inn.
Oblique intimacy between men. Zang Hai x Zhixing, for a whole raft of reasons, but mainly seniority, their existing relationship, and the context in which they live. Physical closeness growing from slowly evolving feelings on a hard-won foundation of mutual respect. A love as cool and deep as the ocean in Zang Hai’s name, and as consuming as liquid fire in Zhixing’s case. I feel this suits their characters.
No technicalities. No four-letter slang because there are better words to describe affection and intimacy. Tough, restrained tenderness but no fluff.

Post-canon. Determined to find Zang Hai again, Zhixing follows the fragrance of a dream.
This story is unapologetically male-focused. Mature in the original sense: No frills, no fluff, no finger-counting smut. An interpretation of what might have been, post-canon. Slo-mo and slow burn.I like Zhixing’s character, and his evolution once he and Zang Hai collide. The thread picks up from ‘Desperation’ which ends with Zhixing receiving orders to march West to recapture a remote mountain pass, then wait for reinforcements to re-establish a permanent garrison. Much of it is about Zhixing’s life on the border, his later search for Zang Hai, and Zhixing as a man. Zang Hai shows up towards the end.
