She took a breath, coughing hoarsely and shrinking in on herself. Once her eyes cleared, Palepaw finally glanced up, the sight searing into her mind. A fearful whine escaped her throat as her gaze trailed over Arachnidspine’s body. She trembled like a leaf, like a kitten; scared, alone, and unsure of what to do or where to go.
And suddenly, she was no longer a child.

A sour taste filled her senses, a gentle claw drifting over her ear. It was not safety, however, but power. It loomed over her, shadowing her frame in inky tones, the shadow stuttering like waves of water when disturbed. A chill ran down her spine.
"I don't want this" She pleaded, squeezing her eyes shut. "I don't want to love her! I don't, I promise!"
The figure still did not seem pleased as the claws trailed down towards her throat.
"Words do not speak for the heart."
And suddenly, she was cold.

The waves lapped up at his paws, urging him forward. Wels shot back, bile rising in his throat as he choked on a cough, tears stinging his eyes. He didn't ask for this; the ringing in his ears. It bites at his ears, humming in a high pitch that has him shaking his head, hoping it will ease the aching feeling. This wasn't fair- this pain, it was horribly persistent. Wels clawed at his ears, maybe the pain of scars will distract him. Tears pressed at the corners of his eyes, threatening to spill over istelf.

‘Say what you needed to say so badly.’ Mossystone was getting impatient, tail flicking back and forth expectantly, and eyes ever so focused on his best friend. ‘What is it?’ His voice dripped venom, with a rasp that spoke annoyance.
‘Stars.. Let me think..’ Fawntail shook his head, looking at Mossystone’s sweeping tail, the only part of him he could handle looking at. His eyes clouded with emotion, which he quickly swallowed up and looked up again, eyes meeting his best friend’s own. ‘Please..’ He pleaded to himself, cringing at the way it came out; a shrill whine.

Summary
Dying wasn't exactly fun. Well, why exactly would it be fun? The agonizing feeling of not existing, feeling ash on your tongue. The agonizing feeling of being able to think but not being able to be sentient in a paradoxical agony...
Then being abruptly shoved into the body of a cat with a new best friend and being in a book series you were obsessed with was well, interesting.
