Nancy bit her lip as she watched Ace type furiously on her computer. She wasn’t quite sure what he was doing on her computer, but she knew that he was hacking. Ace did things on her computer that Nancy hadn’t even known were possible.
And it was one of the hottest things that she had ever seen.
In her opinion, there was nothing quite like watching Ace hack. He focused on the screen of the computer until everything else seemed to fade away. It was this single-minded focus that was honestly so attractive to Nancy. She was guilty of being single-minded herself, but seeing it on someone else? God, she was in deep. And honestly? Nancy really didn’t care.

He forces himself forward. The puddle of his complicated feelings was not a good enough reason not to be here.
“Ace!” Nancy's eyebrows thread together in confusion.
“Good morning, Nancy. How are you?” He keeps his tone even and calm, though inside he feels anything but.
He feels nervous. Which is bizarre, because it’s Nancy. He’s never been nervous around her before. Never harboured secret feelings for her before, either.
“Uh… I’m fine, Ace, thanks so much for asking… but what are you doing here? At my house…. At 7 in the morning...” she says, perplexed. Neither of them really stepped backwards after they collided, so they’re still standing very close together. Though, he’s observed that vast distances between them are not often commonplace anyway.
“Where’re you off to at 7 in the morning, Nancy?” he returns, twitching an eyebrow at her expectantly.
She gives him a deadpan look, because he knows. And he knows that she knows that’s exactly why he’s here.
“I am going to an auction to look for artefacts that belonged to the Women in White,” she sighs, teeth almost gritted in defeat.
He pauses and nods for a beat. “Me too. Let's go.”

She swipes at her eyes and climbs out of bed, tugging her fuzzy robe around her shoulders before opening the window to the frigid Maine winter air.
Nancy wasn’t consciously expecting anyone in particular, but she finds she’s not the least bit surprised to see Ace standing in the snow below her window.
She is, however, a little shocked at the big metal ladder he leans against her house. A ladder which he swiftly climbs, long legs swinging over her windowsill as he clambers inside, all soft sweatshirt and faded jeans and backwards baseball hat to keep his long hair out of his eyes.
Eyes that seem to shine in the moonlight, unassuming and familiar.
“I have a door, you know,” Nancy says fondly.
