George est un assassin au sommet de sa carrière, capricieux, solitaire et en recherche d'adrénaline. Attiré par le danger et le défi, il accepte un contrat follement dangereux, proposé par un homme borgne. Se lançant tête la première dans un vaste jeux à la complexité qui le dépasse, il est censé faire sa voie jusqu'à l'échec et mat et s'enfuir du plateau.
Mais lier sa vie à celle du jeune roi censé mourir de sa main fait plier son allégeance. Des nuances de gris ruissellent sur le plateau, des pièces changent de main, et il doit maintenant trouver sa propre place sur l'échiquier s'il veut s'en sortir.

Summary
George is an assassin at the peak of his career, temperamental, lonely and adrenaline seeking. Lured by danger and challenge, he accepts an insanely dangerous contract from an one-eyed man. Throwing himself headlong into a vast game of complexity beyond his grasp, he is supposed to make his way to checkmate and escape from the board.
But tying his life to that of the king he is supposed to kill bends his allegiance. Shades of grey stream across the stage, pieces change hands, and he must now find his own place on the board if he wants to make it.
