    Summary

    "Why weren’t you affected?”

Once Tony’s voice returns, the moment he is alone with Strange, they are the first words he speaks.

Rasps, more like. It’s too soon. Even when he swallows it feels like he’s gargling broken glass.

Tony doesn’t care. The need to know is more important than the pain.

Strange, at least, does him the courtesy of not pretending ignorance. He tilts his head and says with a slight smirk, “I’m tone-deaf.”

    OR

Tony Stark has managed to go his entire life without anyone discovering that he isn't fully human.

And then Strange's rescue interrupts his escape, and the wizard has the gall to be completely immune to his powers.

Ninety-nine point eight percent of humans have a soulmate mark that tells them the age their soulmate will be when they meet them. Tony Stark has a mark. It's just that his is...different than most people's.

(Or: six people who aren't Tony Stark's soulmate, and one who is.)

    Summary

After Thanos is defeated - thanks to the mysteriously missing Time stone, Tony can’t wait to dive into his retirement plans. He buys a nice little penthouse apartment, moves in his bot family and with the new Avengers taking care of business now, he can finally rest his weary body and haunted mind.

Powerful relics don’t just disappear into thin air though, and he soon finds out that the view and the piano are not the only things he bought along with his new home.

It’s not like realtors would come clean about annoying, medieval-looking ghosts that keep showing up, claiming this is their home, their piano and that they are most certainly not dead.

    Summary

Trapped in a flying doughnut with Stephen Strange, Tony Stark is desperately trying to think of a way to save the universe, keep Peter safe, and not reveal a secret he’s been keeping since he was a child. The answer is simple. Destroy the Time Stone. No Infinity Stone, no end of life as they know it.

    Things are never that easy.

Inadvertently creating a time loop, Stephen is stuck bouncing between the past and the present on the Q-Ship, tethered to a child as he watches him grow up.

‘Why do you always come when I’m at my worst?’ Tony muttered under his breath, ripping his hands free.

‘You love this, don’t you. Seeing me at my lowest! Afghanistan! My parents dying, boarding school. Poor Tony Stark, the psychotic wreck!’ Tony tried to get to his feet, shrugging Strange and the Cloak off him, feeling validated when he saw the sting of rejection in Stephen’s eyes. Good, he wanted him to hurt, wanted him to stop thinking Tony was weak.

The story rating is for the last chapter and some swear words sprinkled in.

The Major Character Death warning is not Tony Stark or Stephen Strange.
