Summary
Will wakes, drenched with sweat, eyes glassy and tears staining his cheekbones. The nightmare he had, it didn't feel real, no, it actually happened. How he knew? He and the party +the party extended were going there to end the crisis at hand, and to finally end Vecna's reign of terror. Except Will didn't know what to do. He wants the scare from One to be over, and live a normal, or some-what-normal life with his friends and family, but he needs to first end this.
Or, It was a dream of Vecna's, no, a premonition of his that he allowed Will to see. Will saw all his beloved, dead, gone, deceased, all within a minute. He needs to do something, but only has a day before the events are supposed to take place. Will is stressed, and only hopes to achieve this goal, but knows he may not make it, so he steps up and tells the one he had eyes for since he was 13 what he really thinks.

All Mike can think of is Will. Will – fuck, Will in the attic, Will getting tortured, Will stuck with Kay and the Demogorgons, stuck at their mercy –
As if on cue, the gods above hearing the spiralling turn his thoughts take, a scream – an all-too-familiar scream – echoes from upstairs, travelling down from the attic to the dungeon. Mike freezes, unable to move, unable to even draw in a breath, as Will screams again – more drawn-out, filled with more agony.
It sinks into his bones, the knowledge that Will is in pain. In pain, and screaming with it. “Will,” he breathes. “WILL! WILL!”

Their seventh year should have been spent at Hogwarts but instead, Mike, Will and Jane are on the run, hunting for Horcruxes to take Vecna down once and for all. Things take an awful turn when they're taken by Snatchers and Will is taken to a separate room to be tortured, Mike unable to do anything but listen to his screams.
(aka, a scene-rewrite of hermione getting tortured in malfoy manor in deathly hallows but with will as hermione and mike as ron that absolutely no one asked for)

Into it, he breathes.
“I’ll make sure of that.”
Mike swore an oath he'll never break. He's wrong.
Or: One simple mission that was supposed to go exactly like all the others do. Out of all the things to go wrong, that was the last thing they expected. Amidst everything are Will and Mike. They'll reason the world doesn't revolve around their will they, won't they? but the world actually does. And where one goes, so does the other. That includes death.
