Summary
Natalie and Richie have gone home, but Carmy and Sydney are still here. The restaurant is quiet again. Almost too quiet for her liking.
The clock on the wall reads 1:27. It's late. They should both be home. But Sydney doesn't have the energy to move.
A part of her still hopes she's having another nightmare. That she'll wake up soon, and find that the updated agreement was nothing but a cruel invention of her subconscious.
But this isn’t a dream. She knows because she can feel the exhaustion from all the crying, and her mouth still tastes like the cigarette she tried to smoke earlier that night.

Carmen had tried to ‘set her up for success’ as he called it but she wasn’t interested in speaking with him during the month he called himself doing that. Like Richie suggested, his salary would make up a good portion of their debt and after receiving the silent treatment, she began to see him less and less around the restaurant. Good. She was tired of seeing his mopey ass blue eyes around her. Some nerve he had. He was the one leaving her! Richie told her she was being too tough but she didn’t give a fuck. Cousin wasn’t gonna get him out of this one. Not this time.
She slips on the dress, the open back makes her shiver but she feels… good. Hot, sexy even if she dared go there. Maybe she would meet someone. But for now, her sights were set on enjoying her night out with her girls.
