He was frozen deer's to headlight, scope fixed on Jason's face, on the way those green eyes glow and narrowed with a rage that felt almost physical. Jason didn't move. Didn't look away. Just stared directly at Roy's position with the terrifying precision of someone who'd been trained by the world's greatest detective and had just realized he'd been played.
"Bizarro just told him," Roy managed, his voice barely a whisper. "He knows."
"Get out of there."
"I can't. He's—he's staring right at me."
"Roy, move."
Below, Jason raised a hand. Not a wave. A single, deliberate gesture—finger pointed at Roy, then at the ground in front of him.

Summary

“You doing a farm or something?” she asked, scanning the first pumpkin and watching the numbers climb on the screen.
Theo glanced at the total, winced, then leaned on the counter. “Apparently, I’m going broke instead.”
The cashier laughed, shaking her head. “Halloween’ll do that to you.”
Theo muttered, “Boyfriends will do that to you,” but she didn’t hear it over the beeping scanner.
