“Uh -,” Wei Ying says, a little blown away. He tries to focus on the menu above the man’s head but it’s swimming around. He’s still not used to admitting to himself that he finds men attractive. “Chicken?” He says.
The server frowns at him. “Yes,” he says.
His voice is deep and it’s at odds with how skinny he is. How young. He’s the same age as them, maybe even younger. But he seems sort of wise? Wei Ying squints one of his eyes so he can concentrate harder. “And chips,” he says.
Wei Ying goes home after his first term at university to find Lan's Best Chickens is there for him on a night out in the new snow. There he finds a pregnant male server who he falls for so fast it hits him in the face, and he knows he needs to keep him forever.
It's a whole beginning of a life story that begins with obsession and ends in happiness.
There should be more warnings for how tooth rotting fluffy this whole thing becomes.
It doesn't comply with cannon in many ways, perhaps a little in others

Lan Wangji can do nothing but stare at the man outside his window. “Wei Ying?”
“Hey, you remembered!” Wei Ying seems to take that as an invitation because he swings himself through the window. “This is a nice house,” he says as he strides across the room and drops onto the seat beside Lan Wangji. “The whole place is really beautiful. I mean, I’d heard Cloud Recesses was lovely, but the rumors don’t do it justice.”
“How?” Lan Wangji manages to ask, but his mind goes blank after that single word. There are other words he would like to say. Why is one. Hello is another. What is happening right now would be nice, but he’s too stunned for full sentences.
Or Lan Wangji falls in love with a cute (possibly poor?) guy named Wei Ying, but suddenly the notorious Yiling Laozu (mysterious, possibly hot under his mask?) wants to marry him. Now Lan Wangji is being wooed by two men, but he's being so brave about it.

The guy is so stupid hot that Wei Ying doesn’t turn away in time. He can’t be absolutely sure, but he thinks the guy sees him sort of turned towards him. Not as bad as being caught outright staring at someone on the subway, except that it’s actually probably worse, because they’re in the cultivation gym’s locker room.
