Summary
“You’re already in my head constantly—what would be different?”
“Everything.”After decades spent in the solitude of his library, studying the glamour and excitement of legends like Minsc of Rashemen and Balduran, Thyneron has envied the great heroes of Faerûn as much as he looked up to them. He always longed for adventure and thrill—but was entirely unprepared to find himself locked in a strange pod inside of an even stranger nautiloid, at the onset of an adventure he never asked for.
On he and his companion’s journey to return home to Baldur’s Gate and stop the tyranny of the Absolute, Thyneron finds that the illithid tadpole he’s been infected with has changed him—he’s bolder, braver, stronger… harder, and colder. The tadpole has bettered him, but no power comes without cost.
This is the story of Baldur’s Gate III, told through the eyes of a lonely and depressed patriar who only wants to make it home safely to see his family again, through nearly any means necessary. Much creative leeway has been taken with the game’s events, so hopefully you will enjoy this journey alongside Thyneron, Gale, Lae’zel, and Astarion, as they each chase a cure for the infection that looms over them.

She finds solace with the Emperor, as both attempt to negotiate a hostile world. An angry populace in Baldur's Gate and the machinations of Vlaakith in the Astral Plane threaten to ensnare them both in the repercussions of their pasts.

But they can’t stop, the Sword Coast still needs saving and they’ll have to figure out their new life as they go along, with the help of their mysterious benefactor; the Emperor.
Two lone Illithid find themselves drawn to each other, one new to all of this, the other seeking companionship and understanding.
But where is the line between the self and their new Illithid instincts.

That all changes thanks to a sudden reunion with his fellow wizard and former adventuring companion, who has gone through a dramatic life change herself... Surely after a year, Gale has had enough time to get over his unrequited love for the woman who'd turned him down, especially when she's now become a mind flayer. Right?
Or: postgame Gale x f!Tav, slightly slow burn get together, with a pining Gale, a definitely not generic Tav, and a second chance after missing out on the game's canon romance. And tentacles!

Summary
Adjusting to life as a mind flayer is difficult, especially when Moss feels emotions with their entire body, and the thoughts of strangers keep physically bumping into them. The mixed opinions of the public - and of their companions - certainly aren't helping, either. But the battle is won, and at least the Emperor is here to mentor them as they help him rebuild the city.
Maybe he'll even hold their hand.A post-game fix-it story about learning to be illithid, but also rebuilding, reconnecting, and rediscovery. Everyone deserves to be happy, the Emperor most of all. Grab a page of acrostics, a bowl of soup, and maybe a toothbrush for the nauseatingly teeth-rotting fluff of this absolute character worship novel I've written for you.
