Summary
Edwin Payne is, technically, a hospital porter. He moves things, he tidies up, he helps where he can. But everyone knows that there are certain people only Edwin can move- certain messes he must be called on to tidy up.
And so it has been for 30 years. Edwin does what he can to sooth souls and to make amends for a past he cannot escape- blood he cannot wash off.
