Summary
You’ve been on the surface for three months by now. Three months, a week, and two days. You should be able to take everything you’ve bought out of the bags, remove the plastic and sort it out for the next day. You need to pack your bag. You need to make dinner. You need to make tomorrow’s lunch. You need to lay out an outfit for the next morning that doesn’t scream ‘I’ve never had this much in my life and I have no idea what to do with it’.
Camouflage is an inherent biological defense mechanism, vital for survival. The proper colours can turn you into anything you need to escape detection. The brown-grey of a cliff overhang. The muddy green of a kelp patch. Something to keep you safe while you sleep. You want to bury yourself in the sandy floor of the shallows and stay there, low and quiet, where you’ll become another inanimate fixture of the sea.

Link is finally returned to Outset Island, bringing with him eight strange men he says are heroes. Aryll's delighted to meet all of them, but one of them catches her eyes in particular. Even with all the kind heroes eager to get to know her, the pink haired hero who stares at the sea with eyes like a homesick selkie is the one she wants most to know about, especially when everyone else seems so wary about letting her talk to him.

Prompt: How would the others react if they were to find out that Legend was a shoplifter? In LA, if Legend steals once, the entire island calls him "thief" for the rest of the game and since to a degree that world is made from his own mind, there's that fear in his head that no matter how much good he's done it's never enough to change who he is. And then that if others found out, would they think he's unable to change, too? Would he even feel worthy of being remembered as "the Hero of Legend"...?

The question tasted stupid. Somehow, it tasted even worse when Legend realized Wind’s breathing had already slowed to match Twilight’s. Eyebrows furrowed, he spat out the nail he had chewed off. The glob of spit landed dangerously close to Wind’s head.
No movement. Not a sound.
Fine, then.
“Ever stolen something, huh?” Legend asked himself. “Yeah, plenty of times.”

Summary
Time and Wind are the first heroes to meet each other, and, to their quiet surprise, they get along extremely well. It's when they run into a third hero that things start to get tense; The Hero of the Wild is airy, detached, and maybe even a little too eager, and even though Wind and Time feel bad about their suspicions, they can't help treating him differently.
However, Time and Wind quickly realize that Wild's heart is just as golden as everyone claims it is.

Wild is at the end of his rope. It seems like the hero business grows grimmer and grimmer by the day, and he begins to wonder if there's really a point to all of it. Do any of his actions even make a difference? What's the point of rebuilding a village if it's going to burn down tomorrow?
Part of him wants to run away, but the other part of him only wants a little bit of encouragement. And said encouragement comes from an unlikely, curly-haired source.

Four glances at the others, but no eyes are on him. His fist tightens.
That was enough.
"Do you have some sort of issue?"
The air grows cold. Legend stops, then turns. His eyebrows are arched.
"You talkin' to me?"

Four is blunt. Legend is sarcastic. Surprisingly, they get along. It's nearly impossible to get under their skin; Legend doesn't care, and Four understands. But if there's one thing the latter can't stand, it's being dismissed.
Things get complicated when Legend develops a habit of doing just that.

Wild is all too experienced with physical injury. At this point, death is more of a casual acquaintance than a faceless god of endings and final goodbyes. That’s been the deal for him for a while now – suffer enough damage, get whacked into oblivion, tap a high-five with the grim reaper, then come back out still swinging.
He didn’t think dying would ever be this much of an ordeal.
