En un futuro no muy lejano, la humanidad enfrenta sus últimos días de paz. Aidan y Doreen, dos hermanos que crecieron entre libros, música y naturaleza en una tranquila región de Irlanda, se ven arrastrados por una cadena de sucesos que cambiará el curso del mundo para siempre.
