Summary
“Jack,” Robby mumbled against Jack’s mouth, voice almost a whine as his breathing shuddered in his chest. “We should-” The nip Jack gave to his bottom lip made Robby’s fingers flex against Jack’s shoulders like he couldn’t help it. “We should slow down.” But he’d only pulled away far enough to speak, like he couldn’t stand to actually put any distance between them, which severely undercut Robby’s words.
“No,” Jack shook his head and brought both his hands to Robby’s face to brace on either side of his jaw emphatically. “No, we really shouldn’t.” There was a pause where Robby’s eyes- deep and warm and just a little hazy- flicked between Jack’s with an uncomprehending furrow between his brows. But then it smoothed away and clarity dawned over his expression.
“Oh,” Robby breathed reverently and his thumb brushed against the nape of Jack’s neck softly.

Summary
John just hummed in the back of his throat and unfolded the lab paper. His eyes skimmed the hormonal breakdown, only half-absorbing what he knew it all meant over the buzzing in his ears, before they dropped to the lab’s conclusion at the bottom of the page in bold type: PATIENT’S LEVELS ARE INDICATIVE OF PREGNANCY.
“Carter?” Carol asked and her hand reached out to grasp his elbow like she was afraid he was about to collapse. “Is it-? Are you alright? You went awfully pale.”
“I’m…” John trailed off and then he let out a breathless laugh as a small smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. “Shit, I’m pregnant.” Another laugh, steadier and unmistakably elated, bubbled up as he raked a hand back through his hair and let the information sink in.
He was going to be a dad. -

Jack rolled his eyes just for show before he gave Dana a thoughtful look. “You get along with your in-laws?”
Dana let out a sharp burst of laughter. “When I’ve got to and when it counts.” She tipped her head. “Why?” Jack shrugged dismissively, suddenly uncomfortable despite the fact that he’d been the one to bring it up. “Come on, spill. You always clam up when you get to the good stuff.” Jack knew she was only teasing him, if he really pushed back then she would back off. Dana was pretty great like that actually.
“I was just thinking of having them over. To see JJ, maybe have dinner.” He shrugged and flipped the paper in his chart just to have something to do with his hands. “Her birthday is coming up.”Series

Carter must have made some sort of noise- a hum or a mumbled attempt at Luka’s name that gave away that he wasn’t fully asleep- because Luka made a low shushing sound before burrowing his nose into Carter’s hair. “Go back to sleep,” Luka murmured, the cadence of his accented syllables flowing over Carter like warm water in a bath before he laid a kiss against Carter’s nape.

He pats Jack on the shoulder and steps around to set up his lawn chair. He likes to sit a little off the sideline to have a good view of the whole field. He also likes to have a good view of his husband’s ass as he strides up and down the pitch. The weather is warming as Pittsburgh thaws into spring, and Jack unearthed athletic shorts from the back of the closet. It’s Robby’s favorite time of year.
