Summary
A suicidal doctor returns to the life he left behind, slowly rebuilding himself through connection, care, and truth.
ER x The Pitt crossover with 2 special guests from NCIS.
FYI: This story has been structured already and there is an ending - which takes place a year after season 2 (4th July 2026).
DISCLAIMER: AI has be used to help me with medical scenes as I'm not a doctor. Everything else comes from my imagination, characters and some scenes from ER for background.

Summary
Carter didn’t mean to.
God, he didn’t fucking mean to.
He sat hunched on the floor of the dirty bathroom, knees up to his chest, arms wrapped around his middle like he could squeeze the truth out of him, like maybe he could wring the life back out through his pores. The pregnancy test lay on the cracked tile like a taunt. Pink. Positive. Final.
The overhead bulb buzzed like a dying insect. Flickered every few seconds like God was blinking at him—watching. Judging.

Summary
“I’m…I’m looking for a Dr. Kovač, and I think that’s you.”
He nodded.
“Yes, that’s me. How…how can I help you? Have we met before or—”
The teen cut him off, shaking his head, and interjected, “No, not at all. Uh, uhm…god, fuck, I don’t know how to say this but…I’m pretty sure that you’re my dad.”
(aka the fic where it has been nearly twenty years since Luka Kovač has seen or heard from John Carter after the man saved his life in the Congo and stayed behind, and now he finds himself thrown into Carter's world all over again because of a son that he never knew they had)

Summary
This will be a collection of scenes with Luka and Alex from particular episodes. Some scenes would be fillers with how the episode went. Some scenes would take the episode in a different direction.
No chapters are anywhere close to Luka and Sam together. It is more Luka and Abby.

Summary
Carter is a med student. A broke, burned out, barely-holding-it-together father of two. Rotations were brutal. The hours were long, the pay was non-existent, and the patients kept bleeding, coding, and throwing up all over his scrubs.
But damn… he was the luckiest Son of a bitch.

Summary
In school, everyone knew Nick Cooper had asthma. Unfortunately, every school, from elementary to medical, had bullies. So when Coop finally transfers to Chicago in the second year of his residency, he decides nobody should know this time, and tries to hide his medical condition. Unsurprisingly, this is a bad idea, especially in an ER full of asthma triggers. But much to Coop's surprise, there's an unlikely ally to him at County General.
OR: Coop struggles with internalised ableism.
Written for Bad Things Happen Bingo. Prompt: Internalised Prejudice.

Summary
Carter picked at his arm as the social worker’s crappy Toyota pulled off the main road and onto a long, cracked driveway. The house loomed at the top of a small hill—big and old and too cheerful for how dead he felt inside.
He didn’t want to be here. But apparently, living on the streets and doing drugs makes people feel just bad enough to do something, but not bad enough to actually care.
Four months on the street. Four. And it took a trip to the ER with a fever of 104 and an infected abscess before someone finally decided, Huh, maybe we shouldn’t let the heir to the Carter family fortune rot behind a dumpster.

Summary
Her parents' voices echoed in her head like a broken record. “If you walk out that door, don’t you dare come back.” She’d slammed the door so hard the frame had rattled, her heart pounding with a mix of rage and defiance. She didn’t need them. She didn’t need anyone. And then he’d been there, waiting in the shadows of the parking lot, his blue eyes gleaming like a predator spotting prey.
“Hey,” he’d said, his voice smooth, low, and far too confident for someone who should’ve been a stranger. “You okay?”
She hadn’t been okay. Not even close. But something about the way he looked at her—like she was the only person in the world—made her nod. Made her follow him to his car. Made her let him take her to his place without a second thought.…
Now… shes got a crazy ex, absent parents, three boys, rent, and medical school. Did she mention she was working as a stripper and doing rounds?
To bad she’s too busy to get to know the tall dark handsome man that’s making her life a living hell Dr. Peter Benton.

Summary
Between traumas, admits, and tragedies, Carter and Luka have perfected the art of near misses. A stolen kiss in the suture room interrupted by a page. A hand brushing too long in the med supply closet before someone bursts in for gauze. A whispered promise behind curtain three that dissolves when a paramedic wheels in another patient. Each time, they get bolder, and more desperate.
Or.. Five times Luka and Carter try to steal a moment, plus the one time they were uninterrupted

Summary
“‘M…'m at Olive Park…by the pier…I got shot.” John’s voice is barely a whisper, thin as air. He's not sure if Peter heard him until a sharp intake of breath escapes from the receiver.
“Where were you shot? Did you call 9-1-1?” Peter demands. He sounds distant, or maybe John is the one floating away.
“Shoulder…called you…” John’s eyelids flutter like monarch wings. He is so cold and so tired.

John gets mugged in the snow. Peter comes to his rescue.

Summary
Mornings had always been their quiet sanctuary. Now, the same rooms felt hollow. Luka was thousands of miles away, in Croatia, tending to his father’s estate. Handling a house full of memories and grief that Carter knew so well. Luka had told him it wouldn’t take long, that he’d be home before their daughter’s next growth spurt. But each morning bled into the next, and the space beside him stayed cold.
Or…. Luka goes to Croatia and leaves Carter with their two year old daughter

Summary
No matter how hard he tried to ignore it it was always a persistent and overbearing presence that wouldn’t ever dissipate. So he gave in to it. When he moved out, he turned into a hungry man. Desperate for experience, desperate for touch. He would fuck anyone willing to experiment with him, not caring if he would wake up the next morning with them still next to him or not. He wasn’t looking for a connection. He was looking for something to satiate this hunger brewing inside of him.
This primal kind of thing that needed to latch and bite and scratch onto any skin he could touch. But he didn’t want to watch the early morning sunlight kiss these people’s faces. So why is he now here, in this apartment, in a bed that’s not his, watching the sunlight peek through the curtains and onto Luka’s eyelashes.
They were drunk, Carter remembers that much due to the pounding headache he’s currently nursing, one too many beers and apple martinis he supposes.

Summary
John Truman Carter III has too much to do to sit around and cry on a therapist's couch about how sad his childhood was. He ends up getting therapy anyway, which is great, because Frank Langdon definitely needed a stable mentor, friend, and ... perhaps more as an influence in his life.
(Or: Carter gets his life together, deals with his childhood trauma, and falls in love with Frank Langdon... maybe in that order.)
