I have an apostrophe problem. According to the metal gates that guard my house, I live in Victors’ Village. It is supposed to belong to more than one victor. I grab a wrench and climb up the gates. They are decorated with metal vines that act as footholds. I cannot get an angle to knock down the apostrophe exclusively, so I end up bending the S as I lever the punctuation out of place. That does not matter. I wedge the wrought-iron apostrophe where it belongs, right after the R.
I live in Victor’s Village.
Alone.
Note: This fic was written before SOTR, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that carries on two rather specific major thematic elements of SOTR (details in endnote). It does not contain SOTR spoilers.

After a horrifying first appointment, Finnick finds himself unable to stop resisting his clients. Haymitch tries to help him gain control, without doing more damage.
"I was brought to the home of my first client. There was…a degree of violence that is never allowed. After that, I couldn’t stop resisting, even though I knew what the consequences would be. I was fighting real clients on real appointments. That’s why it was my tutor’s job to get me to a place where I could tolerate what was being done to me without triggering Snow’s punishment, and to get me there as quickly as possible."
