Summary
Alastor’s powers were not the only thing he lost control of when his staff got broken by Adam. With Alastor’s return to the newly rebuilt hotel his unruly shadow is making his life increasingly difficult, and worse, completely ruining his reputation. The thing had no sense of self respect, happily cuddling up to Alastor’s most hated enemies just to annoy him, knowing Alastor could feel every touch through their connection. And to make matters worse the shadow, still plagued with nostalgic feelings for Alastor’s once friend now enemy, has taken it upon itself to play match maker. If Rosie didn’t fix his staff for him soon, Alastor was surely going to lose it.
A little what if scenario set during Season 2.

“Will you remember this when we stop?” Vox asks frantically.
Alastor’s eyebrows furrow, just for a second. “Do you want me to?”
“No!” Vox practically shouts, flailing his hands in front of himself, “Fuck, no, forget this. Don’t remember anything.”
“Okay,” Alastor says simply.
Vox blinks at him. He could… There are things he knows he’ll never hear out of Alastor’s mouth. Simple endearments, reassurances… Things no one has ever said to him.
Things Alastor would never say to him. Not of his own free will. It scares him to recognize what he’d give to hear them.
It’s pathetic, he knows, to use hypnosis to be told that he’s something worth cherishing. To have to use it, because he knows he’ll never hear it otherwise, and he can’t fucking stand it.
To want it all bad enough to do it anyway.

Post Season 2 - Angel is on the publicity trail with Val and an unexpected act in a nightclub gives him food for thought.
Based on an obsession I have with 'My Buddy' by Chet Baker fitting with the Huskerdust headcanon that I have been nursing for six months.
I know Viv has only confirmed that Husk plays sax, but he could be a multi instrumentalist, and Chet Baker is a trumpet player so trumpet made more sense for this story.
