Darkness over casted their living room, odd shadows and slices of light from the streetlights beyond the curtain cutting strange shapes across the tall walls, slicing across both Jason's favorite chair and the couch Tim currently sat against in awkward, zigzag shapes.
He rubs a hand against his face. Winces as he accidentally puts too much pressure on a bruise he'd gotten on patrol a few days back. There's a slow pause as he processes the pain, throbbing faintly under his skin, blinking several times and focusing on a semi larger patch of yellow light on the floor in front of him, dragging along the rug under his feet. Then, slowly, hesitantly, he presses against the bruise again.
It's quiet.
