When Izuku turned down the invitation to work together as heroes, it completely derailed the plan that Katsuki had been working towards for the past eight years.
In the face of this unexpected turn of events, Katsuki quickly realized just how much he’d messed up by clinging to the idea of Izuku’s return. Because without Izuku there to fill in the gaps of his life, he became more and more aware of how painfully empty he felt.
With his future cleared of the last hopes and dreams of his youth, there was plenty of room for flowers to grow.

Shouto blinks, processing the question. He sounds skeptical when he asks, “You sure you want to spend that much time with me? You used to say being around me makes you lose brain cells.”
Katsuki snorts. “And being around me that much might make you more of an asshole. I’m a major dick, sometimes.”
Shouto huffs a small laugh, and then he smiles. Quiet falls into the night, and Katsuki almost thinks Shouto thought he was joking. But after several minutes, he speaks again.
“Sure, Major Dick,” Shouto says, “Let’s be roommates.”

Summary
Katsuki caught sight of a flicker of movement out of the corner of his eye. It was a swaying motion, and Katsuki had spent enough time around teenagers who pushed themselves to the absolute limit in training and fights to know the telltale signs of a person seconds from passing the fuck out.
It was Todoroki, the bastard. His ice cream, only half finished, slipped through his fingers, landing cone side up on the carpet as his head lolled sideways, body tipping to follow it. He fell towards Katsuki.
Katsuki caught him instinctively, with little effort. One arm scooped behind shoulders and the other wrapped over and around his waist as Todoroki went limp. He was solid, but not heavy, and Katsuki found himself standing in the middle of the common room with Icy Hot awkwardly slumped against him. He was out like a light, pale lashes fanned out over his cheeks, and his chest rising and falling with deep, even breaths.
Midoriya yelped. “Todoroki?!”
Shouto is struck by a strange quirk that causes him to fall asleep randomly and without warning. Katsuki swears he's not concerned.
