Jaw clenched, Sett took a deep breath, exhaling with a short, low laugh that was just enough to mask a growl, and further tightened his now painful grip on her wrists with one hand, wiping Ahri’s spit from his face with the other.
He glared down into her eyes, his entire form had shifted, darkened, making her squirm from his intensity. She was a helpless specimen beneath his microscope of scrutiny, but she held his gaze, calmly maintaining her charade, and continued to smirk tauntingly while, secretly, she was burning with desire.
“You know, I was reeeally hoping that we could do this the easy way-” His tone had turned cold, his irritation filling the space between them, as he reached into the black bag that hung from his shoulder. “-but I did come prepared for the hard way, brat.”
