Bucky hesitated, he and Sam were already having problems over the Avenger's name in the future, he didn’t need to bring that into the past.
“We’re called the Thunderbolts.”
John blinked. "The Thunderbolts?? And I'm on this team? You recruited me?" He looked at Bucky confused.
"Yeah three years from now. But it’s a long story. The others on the team are Yelena, Ava, Alexei, and Bob. We’re a mess, but we work."
Sam folded his arms. "And me?"
Bucky exhaled. "You're Captain America."
John's hand gripped the shield tighter, jaw clenching.Or...
One minute Bucky was debriefing the New Avengers, the next, he was in the middle of a battle for Steve’s shield. But this time, he had knowledge from the future, and he wasn’t going to make the same mistakes. He needed to get his team back. He needed to find a way home. And he couldn’t help but wonder...did any of the others remember, too?

This is a continuation/twist to the What If episode in season 3 called 1872! How come John had only 2 seconds of screen time?! So this basically is his backstory getting out west and will show how their thunderbolts team forms!!

The year is 2013, and John Walker and Lemar Hoskins are on a special operation when it goes wrong, and they run into the Winter Soldier, AKA Bucky Barnes, AKA John's childhood idol. After that, they de-brainwash him, take down Hydra, go after the Red Room, start their own superhero team, and confuse the shit out of the Avengers. Not in any particular order.
