At this point in time, Peter had been going out as the masked vigilante known as Spider-Man for around 2 years. He loved it. Peter was all about helping out the little guy.
He got to spend time with his hero and mentor Tony Stark, learning everything the man thought to teach him.
Until San Francisco.
Maybe if Peter went with the rest of the Avengers, he wouldn’t have had to see Hope Van Dyne blast his old mentor's head clean off his shoulders.
Wouldn’t have had to see half the things that haunt him.
