Kaoru had gaped, Kojiro had gotten him back to his feet, and that was the end of it, not another peep of it for weeks.
But then it happened again.

Now Kaoru was stood at S, repeating the phrase over and over in his head (“Wish me luck, gorgeous.”) and wondering why the fuck Kojiro was so suddenly switching tacks.

And of course Kaoru shouldn’t be talking to the love of his life while on a date with another man, who was giving him an odd look from across the way.

“You have a solution to your girl problems?” Kojiro asked with a raised eyebrow, and Kaoru smiled almost innocently which could only mean bad news, that feeling in his gut worsening, “And this involves me how?”
“We’re going to start a rumour.” Kaoru said, and, just before Kojiro could ask what he meant, Kaoru let his hand slide over Kojiro’s shoulder and down his arm, and he decided he would follow Kaoru to the end of the world if he asked. And then, leaning in a little closer than was probably expected of friends, Kaoru said in such a low voice Kojiro almost didn’t hear him, “That we’re dating.”
