Summary
Jon doesn’t make any friends at his new school; he’s not great at that to begin with. The closest thing he has to a friendship is this weird rivalry he suddenly has going on with the fiery redhead in several of his classes. Her name is Sansa, he learns after three weeks in school, and she absolutely hates it whenever he beats her into an answer in any of their shared classes.
It makes school a lot more entertaining - studying gets just a little bit easier, maybe even fun, when he knows every piece of new knowledge he gains probably pisses off Sansa Stark.

By the time she heard heavy footsteps making their way down the hallway near her chambers, an eerie calm had come over Sansa. It was almost a relief that at last, she had reached a point where she was beyond terror. So this is how it will end, she thought resignedly, picking herself up off the floor and dusting off her skirts. The first thing she’d done after barricading herself inside was to slowly, methodically take down her Southron hairstyle and redo it into twin plaits along the top of her head, leaving the rest of her hair to fall in loose waves over her shoulders. She still wore one of her best dresses- a lavender-gray with intricate, muted gold embellishments. She would face her death as a Northwoman.

Arya is the best at playing their international game of tag, if she does say so herself, so tagging Sansa should be as easy as pie. Only, it's not Sansa she finds in her sister's house, but a strange, dark-haired man who seems to have only woken up.
“Who the hell are you?” She blurts out.
The man lets out an incredulous laugh. “I'm pretty sure I should be asking that, considering you're in my house.” Then, after a short pause, “You’re Arya.”
“I am,” she confirms. “Can’t say I know who you’re supposed to be, though.”
“I’m Jon. Your sister’s boyfriend.”
Arya’s eyebrows shoot up. She didn't know Sansa had a new guy; her sister usually gushes about whichever new boyfriend she has, so Arya’s surprised she didn't catch wind of this one.

Sansa is eleven years old when her grandmother dies.
It's a balmy spring day, and she sits on the porch swing with mom, with Arya on the other side, rocking gently. A gentle breeze catches the strands of her hair, and Sansa closes her eyes. When she opens them again, she watches a butterfly flutter towards her. It settles in her hair, and she holds her breath and doesn't move. Mom pauses in her reading, brows furrowed, right before the phone rings inside. Right before they find out.
She’ll never forget that, the way Nana had visited her and Arya and mom one last time. And she’ll never forget, five months later, walking in on Robb, Jon, and Theon watching horror movies in the basement and realizing that if good spirits could visit her, so could bad ones

When she glances over, he looks like he’s cringing at himself, which is sweet. He seems sweet. But that’s not what this is, and she needs to stick to her guns and not let herself get swept away in a non-existent romance. She needs to stop being so Sansa.
“I don’t think so,” she says, phone clutched in her hand. “I-”
“Nope, got it,” he cuts in. “Just figured I’d ask.”
She gives him one last smile before she leaves, the door shutting behind her with a gentle click.
