It was then she heard it, a rustled, a noise faint enough only the truly observant would notice, too big to be one of her people, way too big. She quickly turned herself towards the sound; she caught a glimpse. A small glimpse: right into his slit pupils, into an inferno that called itself an eye. She froze in place as the beast disappeared into the great sands, realizing it had been spotted. Its black and crimson scales disappearing just as quickly as they were revealed to her.
