Summary
“Well, the two-year anniversary of when we first met is coming up.” Buck sheepishly remarks, and Athena looks at him and shakes her head.
“Buckley, are you seriously proposing on the same day he yelled at you?” Athena stands up, grabs a bottle of wine, and pours it into her glass. “I will never understand you.”
“Yes… perhaps this time he won’t hate me?” Buck can still picture Eddie’s face when he pulled up at the hospital and chewed him out. Buck had never been so turned on in his life, but he never thought Captain Eddie Diaz would look his way, let alone ask him out. The last two years have been amazing, and he wants Eddie to understand just how much Buck wants forever with him.
Or: You need to read the first fic of the series How To Lose A Firefighter In Ten Days Off or you probably won't understand this fic.

Summary
He looked down, shocked to see Christopher’s number displayed across his screen. They had texted occasionally, but it had been over six years since they last saw each other, and since Christopher never called him, something was clearly wrong.
“Chris?”
“Hey Buck, I know it's been a while, and I’m sorry to be so blunt, but Dad was hurt in a fire six weeks ago and has been in a coma ever since.” The color drains from Buck’s face. “I begged them to let him fight, but they won’t listen. Grandma and Abuelo, they want to…”
He doesn’t let Christopher finish, “Christopher, is your dad dead?”
He braces himself for the answer. It may have been over six years, but deep down, Buck’s feelings for his former partner have never changed.
“No, because they aren’t in Dad’s power of attorney, you are.” Christopher tells him, “They tried to hide his will, but when they suggested pulling the plug, the hospital contacted the fire station that Dad works at, just to verify, and his captain turned it over. They couldn’t remove life support because they need you to sign off. I need you too…” Buck doesn’t even hear the last part as he’s sucked into his own thoughts.

Summary
“Why are you being weird? Why won’t you talk to me?” Buck asks, looking down at Eddie. “I wrote you every day.”
Eddie is now lost. Buck wrote to him? “Huh? You wrote to me?”
“No, you’re being weird and dramatic, so I figured I could match your weirdness and dramatics.” Sadness and fear replace Buck’s anger. “Will you just tell me what I did wrong? Are you mad Chris fell asleep on the couch with me?”
Or: This is me using Ryan and Oliver answers for how they would make Buddie cannon from the Nashville con. Eddie is dramatic but I'm not Spanish so no telenovela for me. Buck using Oliver's words as my main promps.

Summary
“Do you like women?” Ravi doesn’t even flinch but he won’t look Eddie in the eyes.
Eddie is taken aback by the question. “Ravi, there is proof I do right down the hall.” he gestures towards Christopher’s room.
“Eddie, that didn’t answer the question. Come on… Eddie… really think about it. Have you ever looked at a woman and thought, "I want to date her?”
Eddie thinks for a minute.
Has he?
“Shannon, I wanted to date her. Then she got pregnant with Christopher, and we were forced to get married, so it got complicated.” He can’t say it about Ana or Marisol. Kim was a whole other level of crazy.
It’s safer alone.
Buck was on a date.

Summary
Buck is leaning against the truck, his curls a hot mess from being pressed against the passenger window, smiling as he approaches. “She’s cute.”
“Great, so why don’t you go ask her out. Maybe you can find an open diner or bar around here and take her out on the town.” He grabs his bag as he gestures around him at the desert, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Grabbing the cooler out of Buck’s hand, he walks to the motel room door to unlock it.
“I have been on two dates recently; it’s your turn now. She would be great practice for when we get back to LA, so you can officially ask Alex out on a date.” Buck says as he follows behind him.
“Buck, I’m not asking Alex out.” He’s not mad at Buck; he gets that Buck thinks he’s being a supportive wingman. He also knows that Buck doesn’t know the secrets Eddie has been keeping.
OR: Eddie is so over Buck trying to play wingman.

Summary
It may be 2024 but Omega's (especially male) are still treated like second class citizens.
Evan Buckley spent his childhood dreaming of being a firefighter, a profession that as an omega isn't open to him. Buck feels like he hasn't got a place in the world until Carla calls him to L.A to take a job as a male live in Omega caregiver.
Buck wants more for himself but he needs to take a job where he can and hey, being a nanny is meaningful work right? What he doesn't expect is to fall in love with the Alpha and the most adorable child he's ever met.
There's just the small matter of Buck not reading to the end of the job description, he didn't realise he's also applying to be a wet nurse.

Summary
"Maybe that’s why he feels more tranquil about it, more open. Because this is Hen, and he knows that she won’t judge him. So, without any real reason and absolutely no lead-in or warning, Eddie breathes in deeply, and turns slightly before the light turns green and…
“I think I’m gay.”"
Or, Eddie comes out, goes on dates, and finds his happily ever after... that was maybe right in front of him this whole time...

Summary
“Eddie,” Buck breathes, laughing humorlessly, his voice wet and thick. “If we sat here and-- and went through the list of things I want…” his hands gesture aimlessly. “We’d-- be here all night.”
Eddie nods, catching Buck’s eyes again. “Maybe-- we start with mine, then.”
The space between them feels charged with static, like the second before the thunder finally rumbles.
-----
Eddie’s finally choosing to be better-- finally choosing joy. He just needs a push or two in the right direction, first.

Summary
Chimney set his wine glass down with a soft clink, shaking his head with an amused chuckle. “I still can’t believe those cops thought you murdered Buck, Diaz.”
Eddie snorted, barely glancing up from his plate. “Well, I guess it made sense.” He shrugged, taking another bite. “It’s usually the spouse.”
The table went silent.
