Summary
A self-satisfied grin breaks across Shido’s face as he addresses Akira. “Omega.”
The King’s voice cuts across the din, and the chatter around them falls into a hush. Akira exhales loudly through his nose and returns his glare back to Shido, chin held defiantly high.
He knew. Somehow, that bastard knew.
“A rebellious Omega is a troubling one,” Shido continues, “A rebellious Omega that thinks he can steal from the Northern Court is a dangerous one. A liability I cannot afford, nor have the time to deal with. For your crime against the Crown, I hereby sentence you to death.”

“Do you?” Akechi countered venomously.
Kurusu didn’t even blink.
“Whether we like it or not, we’re right back where we started in January: We both know what’s going on, your friends have fully consented to be part of Maruki’s fucked-up little science experiment, and my status here continues to be frustratingly ambiguous.”
