Summary
Since Ronan hesitantly kissed Adam on his birthday things between them have been weird. Not particularly bad, not even wholly different. Just a bit weird. An underlying tension there between Adam and Ronan that didn’t exist before they started whatever this is.
They’ve kissed again, a couple of times, and they’ve lain next to each other when the either needed comfort. Beyond that, however, nothing really changed. Neither of them wanting to take that next step first, the plunge into the no going back territory.
___Adam doesn't want to make the first move because he thinks Ronan isn't ready yet. Ronan's about to die from waiting.

“Basically, it’s a spy box?” Matthew saying eyeing the contraption in Declan’s hands. Usually, Declan is much better at hiding the odd things he collects from The Barns to sell from Matthew. Matthew goes to poke it and Declan snatches it up before he can. He gives him a face that he hopes conveys everything from don’t do that to I don’t want to have this conversation, Matthew.
He blames Matthew’s ability to snoop which is second to none these days. “It shows you things that are happening.” Declan corrects but he relents because he’s being difficult for the sake of it. Too many years as the eldest brother. “I suppose you could use it to spy.”

Gansey looks at him sharply - eyes momentarily off the stretching road - but Declan is looking out the passenger seat window. He doesn’t want to have this conversation because he knows that Declan has a point.

Summary
It's a difficult thing when the person you need isn't the person you can have. TK and Carlos navigate their break up from not only being a couple but also being in a Dom/sub relationship that fulfils a part in their life they can't get from anyone else.
this is my take on the break up between season 2 and 3.

“What do you need?” Carlos says, he can feel the air change around them. Something in Carlos has snapped and he’s no longer worried about his own anger or hurt, he’s worried about TK and what he can do to help him.
TK bites his lip and fights back tears that are threatening to spill from his eyes. His eyes are duller than Carlos has ever seen them. “I need to be brought out of my head. I don’t want- I…” Carlos waits patiently, whatever TK needs, he needs to be able to verbalise it before Carlos can act. TK sighs and screws his eyes shut, “I don’t need a boyfriend right now I need a dom.”

TK takes half a step closer to him, Carlos still pressed to his side, and drops his voice low. “Yeah? You wanna make good on that threat, Deputy Chief?”
There’s a flicker of confusion in Billy’s eyes. The worst outcome here is he’ll back off, like so many so called Alpha men tend to do when TK calls them on their claim, and go away thinking they’re a bit weird. Things might be awkward in future but it wouldn’t be the first time TK’s dick gotten him into an awkward situation.
Best outcome is if he has balls and follows through.
Billy licks his lips to wet them. “Huh,” is all he manages to say to that. “Well, then I guess I gotta put my money where my mouth is.”

Then the B shift paramedics caught covid and they were desperate for someone to cover so he agreed to take the shift with Nancy. Carlos kissed him sweetly and told him he had a big heart and they would catch up later.
Later isn’t Valentine’s Day.
The next time they’ll see each other is half way through the afternoon of the 15th. It shouldn’t bother TK, it’s only one day and they have all the rest of their days to go together, but it does because he wants the pomp and circumstance that comes with being engaged.
He wants to do the cliché overly romantic Valentine’s Day. He wants to show off for his fiancé. He wants Carlos to know how much he loves him.

Summary
TK visits the circus and becomes enamoured with one of the performers and his throwing knife collection.
TK struggles to catch his breath. The lights are back focusing on the stage and they’re so bright he can’t see the crowd but he can hear them.
They can certainly see him, so getting a boner in front of hundreds of people is not ideal.
Carlos taps his microphone off and manhandles him gently into position. “I’m going to restrain your wrists and ankles. This is for your safety so you don’t flinch and hurt yourself.” He says. There’s an air of cockiness to it that TK is so attracted too. “I won’t miss if you be good and don’t move.”
