It doesn't help that the woman hiring her is super hot, too, and she just knows that she'd be a total mess around her.
Naturally, she gets the job! How she's meant to work with her super hot boss and deal with work she's not cut out for, Vi sure as shit doesn't know - and when her boss needs more out of her, well, she just kinda has to stumble through it.

Her eyebrows tilt up as if asking Navia for the world and Navia hates how her chest clenches at the simple recognition that this is the woman who killed her father.

Breath caught in her throat, palms still cupping Clorinde’s face, Navia whispers, “You ought to have a reward right? You bloodied your hands for me, Clorinde.”
This close, Navia can see Clorinde’s pupils dilate, the new blackness of her eyes drowning Navia in a suffocating desire. Still, Clorinde remains stoic, her hands resting on the arms of the leather chair. Navia has half the mind to grab them and place them on her hips, but that would ruin the fun of the game they play.
So she leans closer, lips almost touching, the warmth of Clorinde’s breath on her skin like licks of flame. Barely above a whisper, Navia says, “I owe you everything, you know that? You killed for me.”

"As much as you try," Clorinde murmured, "please don't forget to cry."
Her father, her two attendants . . . Navia still thinks of them. Some time has passed since the bewildering climax of Fontaine. But every now and then, the president of the Spina di Rosula still sheds a tear for those who helped her come all this way. None of their sacrifices were in vain, but even so, she misses them with all her heart. On the other hand, Clorinde is willing to do anything to cheer Navia up—even if it means their childhood friendship will never be the same after tonight . . .

It was kind of a no-brainer. She was asking her to willingly go to a hostile environment, to a house full of people that blamed her for Calla’s death. It felt like asking her to don a meat suit and jump into shark-infested waters.
