“I’m sorry!” Elphaba shouts, and Glinda hates how stricken she looks on what should be the happiest day of her life.
“It’s okay!” she calls back. “It’s your moment, Elphie! Just tell me everything when you get back!”
Elphie hears, she’s sure, even if the train is already too far away to make out her face.
OR:
Glinda misses the train to the Emerald City. She and Fiyero have a Talk. They start to realize a few things.
And then they wake up to chaos, Elphaba's name being slandered for all of Oz to hear.

Summary
After Reid and JJ's conversations in Target Rich, I want to believe everything will be okay, but I can't stop fearing the worst-case scenario. Apparently, my solution is to write it, with all the loving brother/sister feels of the episode that inspired it.

“Elphie, I think your husband is about to cry,” Glinda sniggered.
She was probably right. Fiyero looked like he wasn’t even in Oz anymore - his eyes were so wide and blissed out, a bright blush high on his cheeks as he pressed his back against the couch. All of his earlier joking had vanished the second Elphaba had pushed him into the couch, let her skirts fall around them, and told him to stay still for her. Now he looked vaguely like he was going to die.

Trying to explain it makes Glinda realize how little she understands of the past few days – weeks, really: a letter from Elphaba, delivered by a Pigeon at her window, entreating her for help. Elphaba, alive somehow against all odds. And Fiyero too, apparently right there under her nose all along, hideously transformed into that straw abomination. And then transformed again, worse still, back to this state of brokenness, on the edge of death.
Elphaba has been the architect of it all, Glinda thinks, yet barely present. Certainly not explaining or apologizing. Talking about resources and expectations. Telling her that Fiyero didn’t want her involved. Suddenly she feels like the biggest fool of all, for trusting Elphaba yet again despite all of the times she’s been betrayed.

It’s kind of funny, actually—or maybe it’s just surprising, or maybe it just catches him so off guard that Fiyero doesn’t actually know how he feels about it, and funny is easier than horrified or ashamed—but the first time that he undresses in front of Galinda, he actually forgets about the scars.
