“I’m going to ask you this one last time, girl. Which one of your Harper friends sent you to spy on us?”
“Your mother.”
Her flippant little remark quickly turned into a hiss escaping her clenched teeth, as the woman twisted her arm further.
She had it coming for her, she knew she did. Becoming a Harper meant risking exactly this. Torture and death. The latter of which approaching faster with every second. And would it not have been for her damned pride, the thought of an end to this misery would have given her immeasurable comfort.

Minthara makes her stomach go tight despite her ambitions, her cruelty, her single-mindedness—perhaps even because of them. She wants to see Minthara bloodied and triumphant on a battlefield, wielding shadow and flame. She wants to see her kneel in the blood which paid for her victory as she would at an altar, as once she knelt to Lolth. She wants to know what she would look like when witnessing a revelation.
She wants to see her happy. She wants to help her.
Everyone knows what a paladin should be. Hasdrubal is not so sure.
