Summary
Wherein Thor and Loki travel deep into the American heartland on a journey of self-discovery and healing.
(Sometimes, self-care looks an awful lot like riding your brother to filth in a Walmart Supercenter.)
(The Patio and Garden Department, to be precise.)

Summary
When they were children, Mother would read them a story while they got ready for bed. Loki would braid Thor's hair, so it didn't tangle impossibly in the night. Then Thor would do the same for Loki...
Except, his never quite got finished. Thor kept undoing and redoing it, for as long as Mother would let them get away with it.
When they became too old for bedtime stories, and were given separate rooms, Thor would come to Loki's room, and read while Loki braided his hair. Then Loki took over reading, while Thor combed and braided and played his fill.

Summary
“Have you ever been eaten out before?” she asks, nonchalant. Squeezing lemon peel over ice cold gin. “Like, really eaten out.”
Stephanie’s mouth opens and then closes. And then opens again: “Of course I’ve been eaten out.” And she shifts her weight from the left to the right. “What do you mean by really?”

Canon-compliant and yet it feels like it adds something new, something more, to the story we saw in the movie. Also, very hot.

Summary
Burlesque dancer Tom has it all figured out. He loves the freedom his job offers and enjoys the perks of being an object of desire. It doesn’t matter that something has felt missing his whole life as long as he lives in the moment.
Meeting Chris turns Tom’s world upside down. Despite his haunting past, he learns what it’s like to live and love again with Chris by his side. However, in a world of gods and magic, a happily-ever-after is just the beginning.
A Thorki Hiddlesworth crossover where nothing is as it seems.

Bookmarker's Notes
This author is magnificent. The characterizations in this story are just perfection. Despite having different names, the actual characterization is so fully Thor and Loki that there is no question of who they truly are. As they work toward trusting and knowing each other the author expertly weaves bits of exposition in, clues of who they really are and what is going on. There's a blow-job scene that is literally the hottest and most emotionally satisfying one that I've ever read in my entire life. Seriously. The sex, grounded by the incredibly compelling emotional dynamics between the men, is just out of this world hot and rewarding. I'm just in awe.
A note on the RPF tag: I wouldn't personally consider it rpf. I've no objection to rpf, but I feel in this case it's a situation where the author needed some false names for the characters to operate under for awhile and used the actors' names instead of making up something that would just further distance the reader from the characters. The characterizations are solidly Thor and Loki. So if that's a concern you have, I feel you can set it aside for this story.

Kinda ouchy because fucking IW, BUT what I love is how it handles Thor's grief and then how the story pulls him and me out of that by showing that Loki isn't dead and gone, merely hiding. This author does Thor perfectly and writes my fave version of Loki.
