Summary
He should have been dead.
For all his skill and power, Wei Ying knew that his last stand should have been enough for him to have died of blood loss.
The sword in his shoulder should have been testament to that.
As well as the blood still pouring from him.
Whether it was from his bleeding out or from summoning it with his magic was yet to be determined.
Instead, he found himself standing around a dirt valley with arrows flying overhead, some heading towards him.

Wei Wuxian from Qionqqi Path was shot with an arrow before he could fight back at the same time, another world's Wei Ying was run through during the massacre of mages. Desperate to survive and save their families, both worlds' Wei Ying/Wei Wuxian used a large influx of resentful energy/magic to bring them somewhere safe.
That somewhere safe somehow translated to both of them being brought into the other's worlds.

Summary
Finding an unconscious Bilbo in the thick of battle, Legolas takes him to the elf encampment to have the hobbit healed. Through that gesture began a series of events that leads to the revelation of Bilbo's pregnancy and an advise that urges Thranduil to keep Bilbo's survival a secret until the hobbit says he is ready. Of course, his best course of action for that was not to name Bilbo as Elf-Friend but Elf-Kin.
Unfortunately, he did not take determined Dwarven Kings, Princes and the like into account.

Guilty of the way he had treated his One, Thorin casts his pride aside to ask for the Woodland Realm's help in finding the Company's burglar in order to make amends at the very least. Not believing Bilbo could forgive him, Thorin wishes to earn the hobbit's trust and love once more even if it means casting tradition aside and courting his One in the ways of the hobbits
Unfortunately, Bilbo may be willing to forgive the Company and Thorin in words, his mind and heart is not yet ready to let go of the trauma and harm inflicted upon him.

These were the final words spoken to Aelinor of Visal before the fall of their kingdom. They escaped their death with the dwarf they had rescued whose name was revealed to be Frerin Thráinul and spent twenty-two peaceful years in a town called Whitebridge only for a summer celebration to go horribly wrong. Leaping into the enchanted river of the naiads, Aelinor was sent away from their world with only Frerin's company. They then undertake a quest to reclaim a mountain, save a king and his heirs along with finding a family and love in between.
