“We had not been sent word that a new septa was coming, Septa…?” Rhaenyra tilts her head curiously as she eyes him up and down.
“Septa Aemond, your grace. I have been sent by the High Septon himself to guide your children with the Faith of the Seven. I apologize on behalf of his holiness for not sending word to you sooner.”
Alicent’s hands fall to her sides while her eyes start to become glossy at his words. Rhaenyra herself coughs, hoping to break this awkward silence. Daemon himself hides his smile behind his palm, eyes lighting up with humor. The children seem not to care one bit, continuing to eat and babble to each other loudly. The queen regent blinks once, twice, and comes around the long table, meeting Aemond head-on. She takes his hand gently and holds it in her own, looking directly at him, through the veil.
“Then it is a pleasure on behalf of the royal family and House Targaryen to have such a Septa among us. Please, join us and break your fast with us… Septa Aemond.”
Or... Alicent goes too far in Driftmark and Viserys gets fed up with her. Aemond gets caught in the crossfire after losing his eye to Lucerys Velaryon.
