Summary
When Rita Skeeter becomes a single mum, she realises caring for a child probably interferes with tea-and-Firewhiskey time, among other outrages. With her thoughts on a potential partner, well, so to speak, she bumps into the Quibbler editor, who's taken his daughter along to cover a story that the Prophet has assigned Rita to. Seeing her chance, she suggests they pool their information and work together. The rest, as they say, is history. (Or maybe journalism, but that is the first draft of history, so it's just as good.)
Until she finds out just how thoroughly she's outsmarted herself, that is.
