Summary
Life thrives in impermanence and unforeseen circumstances came to light on the night Anne announced their engagement. Circumstances that jeopardized many years of what they had.
Whenever problems come, they used to stitch things up but this time they found they no longer can. This time they tried to walk away. But fate couldn’t separate them. They found themselves gravitating back to one another when a miracle gave their relationship a fighting chance.
Will they take it?

Summary
A series of excerpts, in no particular order, from the journal of Marcy Jin Wu. A normal middle schooler with two cool friends, who finds herself suddenly transported to a world full of Newts (and also Frogs and Toads). Chronicles her ups and downs, even before she arrives in Amphibia. Of course, she also has plenty to say about her new home once she arrives.
Canon Compliant through the ending of Season 2A. Will fill in some gaps with headcanons, but probably won’t be trying to answer big plot questions.

"Is everything okay?”
“Oh thank God,” Marcy breathes. Somewhere in the vicinity of the call she can hear what sounds like a struggle. Someone yells and another person screams in pain. “We, uh, we need you to come in. Like, as fast as you can.”
Anne blinks.
“Marcy, you know that I don’t do that,” she starts, “We’ve been over this. Your work stays at work and I’m not getting involved with it just because your boss thinks-”
Marcy growls in frustration and something behind her in the call shrieks. The sound is eerily familiar and the goosebumps running up Anne’s spine can’t seem to decide why.
“What the fuck is that?!”
“That!” Marcy growls, “Is why I need you here. Goddamnit, Anne, they found her!”
Anne is still lost.
“Found who?!”
“Sasha!”
____Of fantasy worlds you could fall into from your own, some are nicer than others. Even still, most of them aren't The Backrooms.

"What do you want me to say?" Marcy says instead, breathless. "You kissed me. I didn't think you would actually do it."
"Well, now Anne and I are even," Sasha says, smugly. "That did make me feel better, actually. Thanks Marce, you always have the smartest ideas."
Marcy makes a strangled noise in the back of her throat without her consent.
