According to Chad, Dean looks like he could be Jensen's older, hotter identical twin (hence, dopplebanger – "it's like a doppleganger, but instead-" "yes, Chad, we get it."). Frankly, Jensen's not even sure how Chad came up with that idea, since most days, Dean rolls in looking like a half-feral hermit who's gone 15 rounds with a combine harvester and lost. Now, they get a lot of veteran visitors at St. Anthony's and gnarly scars are nothing new, but it's clear that whatever happened to Dean had to have been hellacious, and Jensen's not one for prying into someone else's personal business. So that should have been that, only... it isn't.

There were many places in Woodman Westcott College that would have been a perfect setting for Matt and Jensen to meet. It was likely that their eyes might have met one night across tables in one of the college's many libraries full of leather-bound knowledge and ephemera. Perhaps their paths might have crossed as they traversed the campus's stone walkways, or inside one of the many buildings whose somber hallways announced your passage in echoing treads. It would even not have been surprising for Matthew to have passed by Jensen seated in one of his favored alcoves, admiring the sun's descent among the trees, or for Jensen to have encountered Matt during his frequent morning treks to the college's coffee shop. But despite all that, it was perhaps the most fitting of all that the place where they finally met was, in fact, a graveyard, for where else should two men so fascinated with understanding the nature of death meet?
