The time when, for one unthinkable moment, the well-loved heroes glimpsed upon the dark abyss that lies within the Hood, and lost hope. And, of course, everyone knows about the miraculous victory the amazing Thunderbirds managed to pull off.
No one knows about me. I am the forgotten daughter. The only daughter in a family of six boys. The girl who, deep-down, even on an island surrounded by family and friends, always felt alone. The girl who, despite her intelligence and natural talent, never asked to be a Thunderbird. I never wanted to hurt anyone. I always tried to be strong, to be the person who I so desperately wanted to be: strong, bubbly, and beautiful. And I was those things. But in my soul, I was so much more. And it scared me.
So here’s the story. The real story. The story of how I almost destroyed the Thunderbirds.

Alex has always preferred the dark.
It was quite contradictory. Most kids fear what lies in the darkness. They keep night lights and warm globes to keep the darkness at bay. When they grow up into adults, fear turns towards indifference or bravado. But lurking underneath it is an awareness of the dangers the shroud of night poses. It is natural to fear the dark because of the cover it provides to the things that wish you harm. The dark is an ally and a foe, especially for people like Alex, who must always watch their back.
