Summary
Minato could not get to them in time, and Kakashi's hand goes through Rin. Once again, he has failed, and in the distance, somebody screams.
Before he knew it, he was trying to seek help, desperately running until he finally saw an Uchiha. If he looked a little closer, he would notice that he's not quite in the correct era.

"G-Garp." The nursemaid stutters, shaking in front of a panicking older man.
Nervously, Garp inquires, "Where's the baby?"
"See, that's the thing-" More tremors come from the nurse before she slowly points a finger towards a small bundle on a bed. When Garp follows his gaze with her fingers, a tiny mewl comes from that direction.
Suspicious of the meaning of that, Garp slowly creeps up to the bundle and peels away the layers to reveal a tiny, fluffy, incredibly cute-looking black kitten.
"-I think the baby turned into a cat," the nurse helpfully finishes it off.
Or: In order to save Ace's life, Rouge turned him into a cat.
