Summary
Mike knew he should do something. It didn’t make any sense why he wasn't doing something. If anything, Mike thought that if he ever was in a life or death situation, like Nancy regularly said to him, he would be the one killed off because he couldn't keep his mouth shut.
Something, like maybe run and not be like the first guy killed off in a horror movie but he can't. He can't move. He can't scream. He can’t breathe. He can’t even think of anything more than a few disjointed floaty words.
Mike’s vision starts to blur, the dark shades of his room morphing into a new meaning, the cold suffocating him as a rough hand grabs his arm, the figure engulfing him whole.
(It was 1:48 A.M., February 7th, 1983, and was the exact moment that any trace of Mike Wheeler seemed to have vanished from the face of the Earth.)

Nancy stops chewing for a second, trying to catch Mike's gaze. Unfortunately, all Mike does is pick at his Eggos, broken up, pressing the half of them up with the cool metal of his fork.
Ted, following his son’s tactic of skillfully avoiding eye contact, clears his throat. “He’ll be back tomorrow though, right Karen?”
Somehow, the tension got more thicker than it even was before.
(Or, Nancy notices her brother acting weird during breakfast and just thought it was because of Will's disappearence. It was, in a way, but not just that.
There is something else. Something incomprehensible that has their family's dynamic shaken...and unchangeable.)

Summary
Will grimaced at the wet, cold shiver sweeping through him, wanting, no, praying for Hopper's Cabin to be warm and safe so that he could at least control one thing in his life.
“Hello?” Will knocked on the door with a multitude of locks twice. “It's me, Will. I'm here now.”
Suddenly, the locks unlocked itself and the door opened to reveal El and Max, whose grins were wiped off when they saw him.
“Will?” El breathed. “What happened?”
The door slammed shut behind him, presumably by El, as Will tentatively walked inside, getting the floor all wet like he feared. “Nothing,” Will managed to say. “I just, uh, forgot my raincoat.”
Max and El both glanced at each other, speaking in some sort of secret way, before staring at him.

Summary
Will cracks out his wrists and tries to remember how it felt to struggle, that miserable kind of pain that comes with adrenaline; the kind that sticks around when he gets up in the morning and late at night when he sleeps. It’s not hard to recall it. It boils in his throat until he screams, rainwater sliding down his face and dripping from his hair.
He takes a bat to the fort in a fit of violence. He’s never been the kind to hit or kick, knowing he was better off hiding, waiting it out. That works for things like other people. It doesn’t work for monsters or memories. He claws at the branches with his bare fists, rips the signs off and scrapes his knuckles on the nails.
Will destroys Castle Byers. It doesn’t take him very long. When he’s done, his hands come away sticky.

John walked through the crooked motel door with his tired face and strong, drooping shoulders, looking up like looking at his kids was the last thing he wanted to do, like it made his shoulders all the heavier. Dean was cradling little baby Sam, holding a bottle to his mouth and humming “Hey Jude,” like the only example he had, and his head had startled up at the door, scared of what was coming in with nothing to protect them, relieved to see his father, confused why John was crying.
