Jack returns to reclaim his throne once more because heroes never die, apparently. They have a storied past, perhaps too much to work past. As if Rhys didn't have enough trouble managing strained friendships, a Vault-mutated hand that causes chronic pain, drunken weekends at the club, and the craziness of Jack suddenly fixating on him, his unpleasant past comes back to haunt him. A cult eyes a new power that was revealed by the Vault of the Traveler, waiting for their chance to claim it as their own.

“Multiplying like friggin’ rabbits,” Jack grumbled to himself, ducking behind a pot of decorative foliage and powering up his lasers.
“Woo-ho-ho-oaah. Talk about a throwback. When was the last time this place was still painted red?”
Jack froze, his arm automatically swinging to his left to shoot the offending voice, but the lasers didn’t penetrate anything solid, nor did any damage numbers appear. Instead, what he turned to face was a translucent holographic figure, which flinched immediately, clutching its torso as if to block the laser.
“Wh- Aarghh! Jesus, you scared the crap out of me! Don’t- don’t do that.”
His voice was a sharp contrast to his outfit, but parallel to his demeanor. A skittish and obviously out-of-his-element disposition suggested the cowardice of a bottom feeder, but his jacketed vest and gelled hair were common appearances of the wealthy shark-heads at the top of the corporate food chain. Typical of complex AI projections without a mechanical body, blue flecks reminiscent of the Fast Travel stations’ effects floated off of his form. His name appeared in ally-green above his head: Rhys.

When news reached Helios that a shipment of Eridium had been intercepted on Pandora, everyone had expected the worst. The entire space station steered clear of their CEO, who was infamous for reacting violently to bad news.
Handsome Jack, however, was not swathing the expected path of carnage through the halls. He seemed to be downright chipper, and by lunch time, still hadn't air locked a single accountant.
Maybe it had something to do with the little remote he'd been carrying around all morning...
