Summary
It was months before she had received even an inkling of an iota of an idea that she would see her friends again and that had come to her in the form of an almost obnoxious looking “Am I the only one that remembers this game??” Reddit post. But, despite the “isn't this like the weird dream you keep talking about” message from her coworker making her roll her eyes at first, the moment she processed what she was looking at, she burst into tears in the middle of her apartment. She sank to her knees, shaking and panting, in her small living room as she took in the picture of the colorful box of her all too familiar prison turned eventual home, clearly weathered and worn on purpose to give the illusion of age. Wiping furiously at her tears and even giving herself a good hard pinch to make sure she wasn’t dreaming, she turned her attention to the username of the original poster and all her effort to regain her vision went down the drain, fresh tears waterfalling from her eyes in an instant.

“Didn’t know you still [[smokehouse barbeque]],” he said instead, shifting his eyes subtly to watch the smoke drift from Tenna’s soft lips. He choked back a noise.
“Didn’t know I still…? Oh- heh! Y-Yeah.” He shifted his weight, embarrassed at what in his mind seemed to be getting caught. “Some habits just uh… die hard, I guess! I-I don’t do it that often anymore, especially now that I have to help teach the kids, and you know I’ve stopped drinking all together, b-but sometimes I just- When I’m stressed out, I just need to- It’s not like I’m-”
“Still the same [[dazzling new brands]] you used to smoke [[way back when]]?” Spamton gently interrupted, breaking his spiral.
A beat passed before Tenna sighed and resettled again, a tenseness in his shoulders now that made Spamton purse lips he didn’t have.

“Uh, Pomni?” He started with a gentle tug from his glove. “Could I possibly get my….”
When her frantic eyes met his, the rest of his request went quiet. It felt strangely familiar. As if he had seen that specific look on her face before- that look of frightened, but still frustrated fear. Like she didn’t want to be scared but had no choice and it was upsetting her. One part of him idly wondered what on earth had spooked her like this, but another part of him, a part he didn’t completely understand where it was coming from, wanted nothing more than to calm that expression. Some part of him that he couldn’t access had made a vow for him, apparently, to never let her look like that again. It confused him (it did seem a bit dramatic for what had to be a vague 9am at best), but it... also made sense, in a way, he guessed. Why would he want his friend to be upset?

He usually tried to reason with Home whenever they got like this, but tonight, something had just… He couldn’t take it tonight. The things he had said to Home hadn’t been very neighborly either as frustration and exasperation flared up into an outburst that Julie would have wagged her finger and given him a “Temper, temper!” for. He just-! They did this every time! Every time Eugene even so much as waved at him, he could feel Home’s eyes on his back no matter where they were! Home never acted like this about anybody else and it wasn’t fair! It didn’t make sense! Eugene made Wally happy, shouldn’t his friend be happy that he’s happy?! But stating that had been Home’s last straw apparently because the house’s cacophonous slamming and caterwauling went quiet the moment it left his mouth and only a second after, the floorboards were shifting under his feet and moving him.

Having escaped the castle under the guise of night, Hunter fled to the only place he knew he would be safe no matter what: The Owl House. Honestly, it took about two hours for him to regret the decision, considering running back to it all if it meant he would be free from Luz's weird squeezing parallel arm thing, but the few days he was supposed to stay has turned into a few months and his own room in the rickety old shack. He would never admit it out loud...at least not often, but he's grown to like it here and he wants to see what this side of the Isles has to offer as he finally gets to run around and have fun with people he can let himself believe aren't just putting up with him. It's like that old saying or something, birds of a feather flock together... or whatever.

Why had Kris opened up this Dark World, anyway? It’d been so long since they’d so much as plugged Tenna in, let alone wanted to play with him as a precious friend and toy. Was it their new friend, Susie? If so, Tenna really had to thank her for re-awakening that childlike wonder. Why, in that case, he owed Susie his life as much as he owed Kris! What a remarkable pair they made, huh? Oh, Asriel and Noelle and Dess would be so excited to have someone new into the group! What sort of programs would she like, anyway? Monster movies, of course, but what else? Action movies? Music videos? Cowboys?
Ooh, his circuits hummed just thinking about it! He glowed brighter, rubbing his gloves together.
“So! What’s on the guide for today, Krismas? I have so many new ideas to show. I know it’s late, but we can fit in one gameshow episode, surely! Do you remember when you--”
“Shut up.”
Tenna froze.
(Before TV World starts, Kris has to have a talk with a certain TV and set up some ground rules. Tenna is not a fan of dealmakers and scams these days, and refuses. Unfortunately, Kris is prepared to exploit that.)
