Bookmarker's Notes
9/20/22 - This is a superb work. Fabulous characterization, in-depth character insights, amazing action, and plenty little twists. The fleshing out of characters like the Grangers, Percy, and the twins made for an amazing journey. Just beautifully delivered.

1/8/26 - very cool take on the time travel fix-it trope. Genius, really. Good pacing, great action, and enjoyable warm relationship building. Not many side relationships explored, mainly HG/HP. I did enjoy the dialogue that was shared. It felt in character. Totally worth a future read.

Bookmarker's Notes
1/6/26 - delightful and very original take on the universe. Totally worth a future read. I enjoyed the growth of the characters, the villains, and the satisfying resolutions. There’s a good amount of adventure, a healthy comeuppance for bullying, and plenty of sweet moments. The only thing that was kind of distracting was the amount of moments of Hermione’s jealousy and the over abundance of gooey moments (I had to skip some tidbits); just a tad overboard for me, but I’m sure others enjoyed just fine.

Summary
Harry’s survived impossible odds all his life: his hateful relatives, their abrupt decision to kick him out, and then years spent staying alive on the streets of London.
He’s excellent at surviving impossible situations. His magic powers don’t hurt his odds at all either.
And now? Getting to go to a school filled with other magical students? Getting a gang of his own? Fighting headmasters who don’t seem to like him and learning occlumency from his professor?
Life is brill now.
Life is not so ‘brill’ for Severus Snape who sees a small boy covered in scars and filled with trauma and worries about how to best fulfill his vow to keep the boy safe when the boy has a knack for brewing constant chaos.
Welcome to Year One.

Bookmarker's Notes
12/19/25 - phenomenal retelling of book 1. 1/4/26 - so this series is absolutely brilliant! And also, terribly tragic and filled with loads of angst. I laughed out loud many, many times with the twists and phenomenal quips and dialogue. And cried in many as well. Each rewritten book in the series is exceptionally well done. The cons for me are that: 1) the author needed a beta for grammar and a few spots where the context was confusing, and 2) the amount of main characters that were killed in the later chapters. ….Oh I know that there literary reasons the author chose to eliminate Trent, Minerva, Hermione, Dudley, Draco, and others. But as I immerse myself in what read, it was incredibly hard to finish the series. No WAY would I have been able to read the series without being able to skip ahead. Phenomenal, brilliant, and original take on the book series that I’ll likely never read again because it will stay with me.
