Long ago in the world called Mobius, there lived a kingdom sheltered in a beautifully green and natural land called The Land of The Sky. It was full of many living things both creature and plant that roam in harmony across their homeland.
The king that ruled these peaceful lands was fair as he was wise. Thinking of his people and his kingdom.
As well as his daughter.
Princess Rose, or what her close friends call her Amy Rose, was a beautiful and kind mobian. She too was like her father, caring for others and protecting those who are unable to protect themselves. A princess that was destined for greatness. Yet another perfect ruler in the making.
Unfortunately not all things are safe forever.
Princess Rose was set to marry The Land of The Sky's protector, Sir Sonic The Hedgehog, a mobian she was head over heels for.
But before the wedding could take place, Amy is taken capture of Emperor Eggman's newest creation, a large silver and blue dragon by the name of Metal.
Will Amy escape from the dragon's terror? Or will she learn that Metal's purpose was not only to capture the princess?
But to fall in love with her...

Summary
Shadow's life has been full of mistakes, some worse than others, but admitting his unrequited feelings to Sonic tops the list. He's spent the better part of a decade ruminating on his regret and hiding from feelings he couldn't bear to face. He never thought he'd see Sonic again, and he told himself that was for the best.

"His mouth still felt numb, but that was okay. He didn’t need it to escape. He raised a hand to give the doctor a peace sign, only to freeze still when a metallic limb swung into his field of vision. Sonic jolted, mind focusing in on the perceived threat, confused when it stopped moving as he did. Slowly, carefully he flexed his fingers, horror creeping through his non-existent veins as he watched the movement mirrored by the claws.
He… knew that hand. The numbers in his mind came faster, blaring some sort of warning as the strange feeling of panic without a heartbeat became known to him as he looked down, taking in the sight of familiar blue paint. Not a quill or strand of fur in sight. He was… he was…"
After an experiment gone wrong, Sonic and Metal Sonic wake up to find themselves in the other's body. For one, it is a dream come true. For the other, their worst nightmare made horribly real. But as it turns out, things might not be quite as simple for the either of them.
